Subject: The cocoa sector of Thailand and South East Asia. General description, current issues and a look towards to the future.
The purpose of this conference is Choconomics and Cocoa Politics, and sustainable development of cocoa production. She therefore not only talked about general information of cocoa in South East Area, but she was also talking about what the size and development of Thai cocoa productivity is and what our developed cacao variety (I.M.1) is focused, taste and and flavor or increasing in quantity. We actually focused on both side and continue researching and developing our new fine cacao varieties.
Additional, sustainable growth related to organic farm management was also discussed about how MarkRin educated Thai cocoa farmers to plant and take care of cacao tree without using of chemical herbicide, pesticide, and fertilizer. Also, Thai cocoa farmers who have ability to create handicrafts with the waste from cacao are supported to have more market to sell their unique products such as dying of fabric by cacao bean shell and husk in Chai Nat Province.
